The challenge before Sera
At the end of 2024, Dinvertech upgraded to a high-tech greenhouse — adding CO2 injection and a water recirculation system — while simultaneously bringing on a new grower mid-season. Two major changes at once: new systems, a new grower, and the same high expectations from an already-running season. Transitioning from medium-tech to high-tech operations is hard on its own; doing it while a new grower onboards into an ongoing cycle raised the stakes further.
How Sera helps
Sera consolidated years of historical data — yields, crop metrics, climate records — into insights the new grower could act on immediately, rather than spending weeks digging through past notes to build context. The new recirculation system's performance was assessed through precise EC and pH monitoring, letting the team fine-tune irrigation strategy in near real time as they learned how the new system behaved. This ran through Sera Concierge: live and historical data, the grower's own day-to-day knowledge ("The Inside (Wo)Man"), and an experienced Sera horticultural consultant specializing in peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers across multiple growing regions ("Fresh Eyes"). Weekly review sessions produced evidence-based adjustments while keeping decision authority with the grower — including identifying that daytime temperatures peaking at 32–33°C between 10:00 and 16:00 were affecting plant balance, and adjusting climate control in response.

Full speed, fast
The new grower reached productive footing quickly despite the simultaneous system upgrade and mid-season onboarding.
Root quality up
Crop registration data from February to May showed increased root density, healthier white tips, and reduced root browning and fungal stress.
Heat stress corrected
Daytime peaks of 32–33°C between 10:00 and 16:00 were identified and addressed as part of the season's climate adjustments.
